Success Stories

Meet the brave children whose lives have been transformed by our missions.
Each story highlights resilience, hope, and the life-saving impact of our work at
Gift of Life International – Jordan.

Meet Joan

Joan, a lively 7.5-month-old from Jordan, was born with Tetralogy of Fallot—a complex heart condition involving four defects. During a mission in International Heart Month, our expert surgical team repaired her heart valve instead of replacing it, saving Joan from future surgeries. She is now thriving and enjoying a healthy, happy childhood.

Sundus

Meet Sundus

Sundus is a joyful young girl from Syria who lives in a refugee camp in Jordan. Diagnosed with a heart defect shortly after birth, her access to healthcare was limited, leading to a rapid decline in her health. Thanks to a partnership with Chain of Hope UK, Sundus received life-saving surgery during a mission in Jordan, giving her a chance at a healthier future.

Meet Abeer

Abeer, a sweet two-and-a-half-year-old from Syria, also lives in a refugee camp. She was diagnosed with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), an opening between her heart’s chambers. During a mission led by our volunteer cardiologist Dr. Iyad Amouri, with support from the Le Bonheur cardiac team, Abeer received the surgery she needed to grow strong and enjoy her childhood.

Meet Kirollos

Kirollos, a 1-year-old from Egypt living in Jordan, faced frequent illness from a young age. Diagnosed with congenital heart disease, he needed surgery that his family couldn’t afford. After being referred to us by a pediatric cardiologist, Kirollos received life-saving surgery through our global network and is now on the path to a healthier life.

Meet Enas

Enas, a 7-month-old Syrian girl, was diagnosed with coarctation of the aorta—a condition causing a narrowing in her main artery. Her symptoms worsened quickly, requiring urgent treatment. With the support of Gift of Life International, Dr. Iyad Ammouri performed a catheterization procedure to widen her artery, and Enas now enjoys life with her three siblings, in good health.

Eman

Meet Eman

Eman’s family fled Syria when she was a newborn, seeking refuge in Jordan. Diagnosed with a heart defect at age three, they struggled to secure treatment amid financial and pandemic challenges. After years of waiting, Gift of Life International was able to perform Eman’s surgery, giving her a renewed chance at a healthy life.
